Nagura Elementary School Shimizu Branch

The remains of a small branch school in the Shimizu area of Nishinagura, Shitara, Aichi, a short way along National Route 257 from the roadside station Agri Station Nagura. It opened in 1948 as a branch of Nagura Elementary School and closed in 1964 when it was merged into the main school. The single-story wooden school building and gateposts still stand, conveying the look of the small schools where children once studied in mountain villages. It sits within the village, so please stay off the grounds and view it quietly from the road, taking care not to disturb nearby residents.
