Liminal space · Aichi, Japan

Okazaki CIBICO

A mixed-use shopping complex in central Okazaki that was once busy with a supermarket, restaurants, and other tenants. As tenants have continued to leave, many of its floors and corridors now show almost no sign of people. Its interior and signage, which keep the feel of the Showa and Heisei eras, have drawn attention on social media for their striking "abandoned" atmosphere. It is a liminal space with a strange feeling of being cut off from reality.
