Liminal space · Aichi, Japan

Nagoya City Hall Main Building

A city hall completed in 1933 and still in use today. Its landmark is a clock tower topped with a tiled roof and shachi (mythical tiger-headed fish), and together with the neighboring Aichi Prefectural Government main building it is designated a national Important Cultural Property. The corridor on the north side runs for about 100 meters, and its view of identical windows and doors repeating into the distance has been used as a location for films and TV dramas.
