Liminal space · Aichi, Japan

Endoji Shopping Street

A covered shopping street about 220 m long, east of Nagoya Station and leading into the Nagono district. The street dates back to the Edo period; its arcade was built in 1964 and renovated in 2015. It is lively during the day, but early in the morning before the shops open, or on closing days, it becomes a quiet passageway where only shutters and signs line up beneath the long arcade.
