Meieki Underground Shopping Street Sun Road
Nagoya's oldest underground shopping street, opened in 1957. Because it was built together with the Higashiyama subway line, the original passage follows the tracks in a wide curve. Similar shopfronts continue along a curving passage where you cannot see far ahead, and in the empty hours before the shops open, it feels as though no matter how far you walk, you keep ending up back in the same place.
