Bizan Ropeway (Awa Odori Kaikan Base Station)
A ropeway to the summit of Mt. Bizan in Tokushima, opened in 1957. The base station is inside the Awa Odori Kaikan building; you board from an upper floor and reach the 290-meter summit in about six minutes. The station tucked inside a building, and the summit station on a quiet evening or at night, become places where you lose track of where you are headed.
