Chateau Sanpo
A building modeled on a European castle, standing on the summit of Mt. Sanpo in Konan, Kochi. It was built as an observation facility, together with an amusement park and a restaurant, to coincide with the opening of the Ryugado Skyline in 1973, and was later also used as a museum. It closed in the early 2000s, and even after the surrounding facilities were torn down, this building alone remained. It can be seen on the mountaintop from the direction of Kochi Ryoma Airport and is fondly regarded locally as a symbol of the town. The summit area has at times been closed off for construction, so please view it from the foot of the mountain or from the road.
