Aioi Elementary School Aioi Branch
The remains of a two-story wooden branch school in the hills of Aioi, Hachiman-cho, Gujo. It opened in 1909, was rebuilt at its current location in 1954 and closed in 1970. After closing, it served for a while as a community hall. One memorable detail is the staircase, where each step is labeled with a place value such as "one million" or "ten million." The first floor is still used for storing materials, so people come and go, and the floors and the building itself are badly deteriorated, so please do not go inside and view it only from outside.
