Seikan Ferry Memorial Ship Mashu Maru, Hakodate
The Mashu Maru, a ferry that entered service in 1965 and linked Aomori and Hakodate until the Seikan ferry route was discontinued in March 1988. It is still moored at a quay near Hakodate Station and is open to the public as a memorial museum. Rows of seats, the wheelhouse, the radio room. Inside a ship that will never sail again, the time after its final voyage goes on just as it was.
