Jonan Junior High School (White Abandoned School)
The building of the former Jonan Junior High School of Yoshii Town, standing in the hills of Akaiwa, Okayama. In 1969 the school merged with nearby Hitomi Junior High School, and the building soon stopped serving as a school. It later passed into the hands of a company, and its interior walls, ceilings and even stairs are said to have been painted white, which earned it the name 'the white abandoned school'. It appears to have fallen out of use by the 1980s, and in the second-floor classrooms, light from the windows spreads across the white walls. It is private property, so please stay off the grounds and view it only from outside.
