Wakasa Station (Wakasa Railway)
The terminus of the Wakasa Railway, opened in 1930 and the easternmost station in the Chugoku region. Its wooden station building is a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. Beyond the tracks remain a hand-operated turntable, a water tower, a coaling stage and a C12 steam locomotive: equipment from the age of steam, lined up and no longer in use.
