Mikobata Ore Dressing Plant Ruins (Machu Picchu of the Orient)
At the site of the Mikobata ore dressing plant, only concrete foundations remain, stacked in tiers up the mountainside one above another, creating an eerie landscape like an ancient ruin buried in jungle. The plant buildings themselves were removed long ago, and the foundations alone silently hold up the memory of the machinery that once roared here. Known as the 'Machu Picchu of the Orient', its hushed form is a borderland landscape where industrial memory and nature melt into each other.
