Okunoshima Poison Gas Museum

Okunoshima is now popular with tourists as 'Rabbit Island', but during the war it was a secret poison gas production base that was erased from maps. The museum passes on that history today, and together with the ruins of the power plant, gunpowder stores and other structures that remain on the island, it gives the place a distinctive atmosphere in which a peaceful present and a heavy past exist side by side.
