Liminal space · Hiroshima, Japan

COMS Asa Park

A shopping complex in Asakita Ward, Hiroshima, opened in 1991 with the Fresta supermarket as its anchor tenant. The interior keeps much of the look of the early Heisei years, and there is a nostalgic air inside, as if time had stopped. A liminal space with a dreamcore, Heisei-retro feel, where nostalgia and a sense of unreality sit side by side.
