Former Taisha Station
The terminus of the former JNR Taisha Line, which was closed in 1990. The wooden Japanese-style station building, built in 1924 with a design evoking Izumo Taisha shrine, is a national Important Cultural Property, and the platform and a D51 steam locomotive also remain. It reopened to the public in April 2026 after conservation work. Standing on a platform where trains will never come again, you feel as if time stopped partway through the timetable.
