Sunshine City Exhibition Hall A
A large exhibition hall on the 4th floor of the World Import Mart Building at Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. Right after load-in or load-out, and in the empty hours before and after events, all that remains is a vast floor with no fixtures or visitors and uniform lighting covering the entire ceiling, giving the impression of aisles that go on forever. Combined with its closed, windowless structure, this has repeatedly led people on social media to point out its Backrooms-like quality.
That sense of deja vu made it the venue for "Q LIMINAL," an immersive event marking the Japanese release of the film The Backrooms. During its run from September 11 to 20, 2026, it drew attention as a place to experience in real life the "endless, empty exhibition halls" you would expect to find only in games and films. (The event has ended. The exhibition hall can be entered only when events are being held.)
