Gyoko Underground Gallery
An underground passage linking the office buildings of the Marunouchi area, bright and wide, with long glass display cases running along both sides. During the day it is busy with office workers, but in the early morning or on holidays, when few people are around, it falls silent even though it lies at the heart of the Marunouchi business district, creating a strange atmosphere cut off from the noise of the real world. The orderly glass cases and the long, straight passage have drawn attention on social media as a liminal space that seems to sit on the boundary between the everyday and the extraordinary.
