Shinyo Building 2F (Akasaka Backrooms)

The second floor of a multi-tenant building in Akasaka, completed in 1976. From September 1 to 13, 2026, a vacant glass-fronted unit here displayed a life-size "real 3D advertisement" for a limited time, marking the Japanese release of the film "Backrooms." Created by the creative team PINPIN STUDIO, it recreated a space from the film by stacking reused items, and at night a yellow glow appeared in the alley. The display could be viewed through the glass from the street, and posts by people who saw it spread on social media.

The display has ended and the space has returned to being an ordinary vacant rental office, so please refrain from visiting.
