Hotel La Rainbow

The remains of a hotel on Mt. Washu in Shimotsui, Kurashiki. It was built around the time the opening of the Seto Ohashi Bridge (1988) brought more tourists, and in 1990 a rotating observation tower called the "Rainbow Tower," rising to 138 meters, was added, but the facility closed in 1997. The rusted tower and the building with its broken windows remain on high ground overlooking the Seto Inland Sea. The grounds are closed off with barbed wire and no-entry signs, and in the two-plus years up to March 2022, 35 people were caught for trespassing and similar offenses. Please view it only from the nearby public road.
