Sunrise Naha Shopping Street

A covered shopping arcade behind Kokusai-dori in Naha, running from Ichiba-hondori toward the Kainan area. It has been around since the 1950s, and its arcade roof was added in 1988. Step one street away from the tourist crowds and you find closed shutters, old signs and small shops dotted along under fluorescent lights, as if you had wandered into the back side of a tourist town.
