Naminoue Beach

The only swimming beach in Naha, right in the middle of the city. It is an artificial beach built in 1991; an elevated road crosses the sea just in front of it, and Naminoue Shrine stands on the rocks above. In the early morning or at night, with no swimmers around, this southern island beach hemmed in by an overpass and concrete looks somehow staged, like a set.
