Sapporo Underground Shopping Street, Pole Town

An underground shopping street that runs straight for about 400 m above the Namboku subway line, from Odori to Susukino. It opened in 1971, the year before the Sapporo Olympics. The passage is packed with people during the day, but when the shop shutters are down or the whole mall is closed, it becomes just a long underground corridor of near-identical storefronts, where the view never changes however far you walk.
