Okawa Grand Hotel
An abandoned hotel on the seafront along National Route 135 near Izu-Okawa Station in Higashiizu. It is said to have opened in the early 1960s and appears to have closed around 2004. The main building facing the sea still stands; most of its windows are gone, and it is deteriorating in the salt wind. The ownership of the land and building is reportedly complicated, which is said to be why demolition has not progressed. The building is clearly visible from the highway, so please do not enter the grounds, watch out for traffic, and view it only from outside.
