Ohikage Tunnel Walking Path
A railway tunnel on the Chuo Main Line, opened in 1903. It fell out of use in 1997 when a new tunnel was built alongside it, and today it is a walking path about 1.4 km long that you can walk for free. The brick walls, soot from steam locomotives, rails and signs remain as they were, and you walk along a perfectly straight passage with lights spaced at regular intervals, about 30 minutes each way.
