Barbican Estate Highwalks

A large residential complex in the City of London, in the heart of the capital, designed by Chamberlin, Powell and Bon and built between 1965 and 1976. It holds about 2,000 homes, and its three high-rise towers were the tallest residential buildings in London when completed. Elevated walkways called the "highwalks," which separate pedestrians from the road traffic at ground level, wind between the buildings on several levels; because it is easy to get lost, yellow lines are painted on the ground to guide the way. People live here, so please take care not to photograph their homes or the residents' gardens.
