Alexandra Road Estate, Rowley Way

A council housing estate in Camden, north London, designed by Neave Brown and built from 1972 to 1978. An eight-story block facing the railway shields the estate from train noise, and inside it Rowley Way, a car-free pedestrian street, curves gently along. Stepped terraced homes line both sides, with similar railings and openings repeating into the distance. In 1993 it became the first postwar council housing to be listed at Grade II*. People still live in its roughly 520 homes, so please be considerate of the residents and their homes and keep quiet when taking photos.
