Akita Port Tower Selion
A 143-meter glass tower at the edge of Akita Port, opened in 1994. Its observation room 100 meters above the ground is free and open until 9 p.m. At night and on weekdays the room is nearly empty, with only the Sea of Japan and the lights of the harbor spreading out beyond the windows. An empty room high in the air that still holds the atmosphere of the early Heisei years.
