Iwate Bank Red Brick Building (Former Morioka Bank Head Office)
A red-brick building designed by Kingo Tatsuno and Manji Kasai, built in 1911 as the head office of Morioka Bank. It is a nationally designated Important Cultural Property, was used as a bank until 2012, and has been open to the public since 2016. In the former banking hall with its high ceiling, only the counter remains, with no customers or clerks, as if time stopped for a bank that has finished its work.
