Former Shirakawa Kogen Ski Area
The site of a former ski area at the foot of Mt. Akazura in Nishigo, Fukushima. It was originally the Akazurayama Ski Area; in the late 1990s it replaced its lifts and center house and changed its name, but it appears to have stopped operating around 2000. The slopes have returned to grassland, and a 2019 visitor's account described a lodge building with broken windows still standing. The site has been closed to entry since 2021, so please view it only from the Mt. Akazura hiking trail or the surrounding roads.
