Nikko Western Village (Abandoned)
The site of a Wild West-themed amusement park near Kinugawa Onsen. It began in 1973 as Kinugawa Family Bokujo (Kinugawa Family Ranch) and became Western Village in 1982, drawing crowds with its frontier-town streets, a replica of Mount Rushmore, and a steam locomotive brought over from the United States. It has been closed since December 2006 and has never reopened. The grounds are watched by an electronic security system and cannot be entered. Please view the entrance buildings only from the road.
