Usui No. 3 Bridge (Megane Bridge) and the Abt Road
A brick arch bridge on the former Shin'etsu Main Line, completed in 1893. It is 91 meters long, stands 31 meters above the riverbed and was built with about two million bricks. About 6 km of the abandoned line, from Yokokawa Station to the site of Kumanotaira Station, has become the Abt Road walking trail, which lets you cross the bridge on foot and pass through a series of tunnels. Walking along a track where trains no longer run, you feel left behind halfway down a passage that has finished its work.
