Nam Shan Estate, Stairs and Courtyard

A public housing estate in Shek Kip Mei. Residents began moving in in 1977, and by 1979 all eight blocks were complete. Blocks painted pale green and blue enclose a plaza on three sides, and old playground equipment remains on the podium above the market. The view of identical windows and corridors became known through photographs, and more and more people now come to take pictures. About 6,000 people still live here, so please stay quiet when you visit and take care not to point your camera at homes or residents.
