Ryugyong Hotel

A 105-story, 330-meter pyramid-shaped hotel on which construction began in 1987. In 1992, just as the frame reached the top, work stopped because of an economic crisis, and the building was left as bare concrete for 16 years. Construction resumed in 2008, the glass cladding was completed in 2011, and since 2018 one face of the exterior has lit up with LED displays. The interior is still unfinished and the hotel has never opened. It can be seen from almost anywhere in the city, yet only a very few people have ever been inside.
