Preston Bus Station
A bus station in Preston, in northwest England. It opened in October 1969, designed by Building Design Partnership (BDP) with structural engineering by Ove Arup. White curved concrete wraps the edges of the multi-storey car park above, creating layer upon layer of long horizontal lines. It survived proposals for demolition, was listed at Grade II in 2013, and reopened in 2018 after renovation. Between departures, the long waiting concourse is lined with nothing but identical doors and benches.
