Napoli Afragola Station
A high-speed rail station designed by Zaha Hadid, opened in 2017. The station building itself is a white bridge that curves across the tracks for more than 400 m, and inside is a curved concourse lined with bone-like ribs. It lies about 15 km northeast of central Naples, surrounded by fields and roads. Ridership has been lower than planned, and the vast concourse is often nearly empty. With no straight lines to orient by, you lose track of how far you have walked.

LIMap is a map for finding and sharing liminal spaces: places emptied of people that feel eerie and nostalgic at the same time. Many of these places are private or off-limits, so please follow the notes above and view them only from where you are allowed.
