Skopje Main Post Office

A main post office designed by the architect Janko Konstantinov as part of the reconstruction plan after the 1963 earthquake. The main building and tower were completed in 1974, and the circular counter hall, whose radiating concrete ribs open like petals, in 1982. Beneath the hall's dome was a mural depicting the earthquake and the rebuilding. A fire in 2013 destroyed the dome and the mural, and the hall still stands without a roof. The main building is used for post office offices, and restoration of the hall is at the planning stage.
