Kosmonavtlar Station

A space-themed station on the Tashkent Metro, opened in 1984. The platform walls are covered in ceramic panels shading from deep to pale blue, lined with round ceramic medallions depicting figures from astronomy and space exploration such as Gagarin, Tereshkova, Ulugh Beg and Galileo. Linear lights and glass stars scattered across the ceiling suggest the Milky Way. On an empty platform just after a train has left, only the vision of the future painted in the Soviet era remains on the blue walls.
