Liminal space · Spain

Walden 7, Interior Atrium

An apartment building completed in 1975, designed by Ricardo Bofill and Taller de Arquitectura. More than 400 homes, made by stacking units of about 28 m², surround courtyards inside the building, linked by bridge-like walkways crossing above and below. The outer walls are red, and the inner courtyard walls are covered in blue tiles. Whether you look up or down, the same walkways and balconies keep repeating. People still live here, so visits to the interior are limited to reservation-only tours offered by the residents' side.

LIMap is a map for finding and sharing liminal spaces: places emptied of people that feel eerie and nostalgic at the same time. Many of these places are private or off-limits, so please follow the notes above and view them only from where you are allowed.
