Ponte City Central Atrium
A cylindrical residential high-rise in the Berea district of Johannesburg, South Africa. Completed in 1975, it stands about 173 meters tall. A circular atrium runs up through the center of the building, and looking up from the bottom, identical rows of windows rise in rings all the way to the sky. During the building's decline in the 1990s, rubbish is said to have piled up several stories high at the bottom of this atrium. After renovation it is once again home to many people, so please do not go inside without permission, and be considerate of the residents' daily lives.
