Sathorn Unique Tower
An unfinished high-rise condominium in the Sathorn district of central Bangkok, near the Chao Phraya River. Construction began in 1990 and stopped in 1997, when funding ran out during the Asian financial crisis. The skeleton, 49 floors including the basement and about 185 meters tall, is decorated in a neoclassical style with many columns and balconies, and windowless openings line it all the way to the top. Hotels and new condominiums now stand around it, and beside them the gray tower remains, frozen in time. The owner prohibits entry, so please view it only from outside.
